Supreme Courts Speak

Tuesday, Dec. 8, the Supreme Courts of Arizona and the United States assured the will of the voters will stand. They swept aside the web of lies spun by right-wing talk show hosts, lawyers, and politicians.

The U.S. Supreme Court simply said “The application for injunctive relief presented to Justice Alito and by him referred to the Court is denied.” This rejected a lawsuit asking that Pennsylvania either reject more than 2.5 million ballots cast by mail or allow state lawmakers to select presidential electors.

The Arizona Supreme Court unanimously upheld a lower-court decision and confirmed the election of the Biden Electors. The chief justice wrote that the challenge by the state G.O.P. chair, Kelli Ward, failed to present any evidence of “misconduct,” “illegal votes” or that the Biden Electors “did not in fact receive the highest number of votes for office,” let alone establish any degree of fraud or a sufficient error rate that would undermine the certainty of the election results (p. 6).

These decisions came on the day of the “Safe Harbor” deadline. The voters’ decision is conclusive in states that have applied procedures to settle controversies over the election by that date, six days before the Electoral College meets.

On Monday, Dec. 14, electors from Arizona, Pennsylvania, and many other states will vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to be the next President and Vice-President, respectively, of the United States. We look forward to the inauguration on January, 20, 2021!

Thanks!

The Presidential race has now been called by the major news organizations for all 50 states. Joe Biden is President-elect; and Kamala Harris, Vice-President-elect. Senator Martha McSally also conceded to soon-to-be Senator Mark Kelly today. Anna Tovar will join Sandra Kennedy on the A.C.C.

We extend our congratulations to them. Thanks to all of you who worked so hard to help them win! And to those who turned out to vote and boost them to an early Arizona lead. You helped us make a difference for our country and our state.

Thousands more people in San Tan Valley precincts voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris than there are registered Democrats. Even more voted for Mark Kelly. So thanks, too, to the Independents and Republicans who joined us in voting for our next Senator and President!

We’re sad that our other candidates running in our precincts lost. Just goes to show it wasn’t rigged. We still think they were, and are, the best, even if more voters disagreed. It’s how America works!

Vote for DiSanto!

It’s Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Air Force One has just landed in Bullhead City, AZ. It’s the second time this month the President has campaigned in Arizona Congressional District 4.

Is he worried about Congressman Paul Gosar? It looks that way to us!

Join us in voting for Delina DiSanto, the Democratic candidate for CD-04!

Seniors

What’s up with the G.O.P. and seniors this year? Katie Hobbs, the Arizona Secretary of State, wants to let seniors in nursing homes, who are not allowed visitors, vote via video conference. It seems like a reasonable, bipartisan move. But Governor Ducey challenged her and asked the Attorney General to investigate.

Donald Trump signed an executive order deferring employee withholding of Payroll Tax through December. While most employers are still withholding the tax, the Federal Government has stopped, and that includes member of the military. The President has said if he is re-elected he will terminate the Payroll Tax after the beginning of the year. The Payroll Tax funds Social Security and Medicare. We’re sure you can connect the dots. *

And then, there’s this (just 30 seconds long)…

Lincoln Project “If you’re over the age of 65, Donald Trump doesn’t care whether you live or die.”

It isn’t long ’till we all get to tell Donald Trump, “You’re fired!” by voting for Joe Biden. You won’t get that chance again.

Let’s tell his supporters in Congress and the Legislature that, too. Support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot!

Arizonans have until October 5 to register to vote.

  • * Here’s a detailed article fact checking the fact checkers on this. Just in case you wonder about those TV ads that say the opposite.
  • We’ve embedded the video from one of our links. He couldn’t be any clearer. (No commentary. 100% pure Trump.)

A Socially Distanced Conversation

President Barak Obama and Vice President Joe Biden recently met to discuss our nation. They used to have such conversations in the White House, back when we were pulling out of the Great Recession… then, back in happier, more hopeful times. Let’s make sure they can do that often again next year.

Support Joe Biden for President! Vote for Mark Kelly for U.S. Senate in Arizona’s Primary Election!
